Frequently asked questions
- What is Manor?
- Manor is a voice-first expense journal for Morocco. You say what you spent, such as “taxi 20 dirhams,” and it records the amount, category, and date for you. You can also type entries. It tracks a monthly budget and keeps a history of past months.
- Is Manor free?
- Manor will be free during its initial release. Some advanced features may become paid later to help cover voice-processing costs. There is no credit card required for the initial release.
- Is Manor available on Android?
- Manor is launching on Android and is currently in a closed test. Join the Android beta from our home page with the Gmail address you use for Google Play, and we will email your invite.
- Is there an iPhone version?
- Not yet. iPhone is coming later. For now, testing and the first release are Android only.
- Which languages can Manor understand?
- The initial release understands spoken expenses in English. The website and app interface are available in English and French, selected from your device language.
- Does Manor need a bank connection?
- No. Manor never asks to link a bank account. You add expenses yourself by speaking or typing.
- Does it work offline?
- Capture is offline-safe: if you have no signal when you record or type, your input is saved and processed once you are back online, so nothing is lost.
- Can Manor make mistakes?
- Yes. Manor can occasionally misunderstand an expense. Every entry is yours to review and edit: amount, category, date, or note, in a couple of taps.
- Can I edit or delete an entry?
- Yes. Tap any entry to change its amount, category, date, or note, or to delete it.
- How do I delete my account and data?
- In the app, open Account and choose “Delete account and all data.” If you no longer have the app, use the public request form on our Data deletion page. We verify control of the Google-account email before acting.
Joining the Android beta
- Use an Android phone and a Gmail address linked to Google Play.
- On thehome page, open the Android tester form, enter your first name and that Gmail address, then tap “Become an Android tester.”
- You’ll see a “Thank you, we’ll contact you soon” message. We add testers manually, so it may take a little time.
- Watch that Gmail inbox for your test invite and a link to install Manor from Google Play.
Troubleshooting
The sign-up form won’t submit
Give the “are you human?” check a moment to finish, then try again. If it still fails, reload the page and re-enter your details. The address must be a valid @gmail.com address.
Voice capture isn’t working
Manor needs microphone permission to record. If you denied it, enable the microphone for Manor in your Android settings, or simply type the expense instead. Typing always works.
An expense came out wrong
Manor can occasionally misunderstand you. Tap the entry to fix the amount, category, date, or note. If an amount is missing, the entry is flagged so you can add it.
I had no internet when I recorded
That’s fine. Your input is saved and processed when you’re back online. Nothing you capture is lost because of a missing connection.
Platform and language availability
- Platform: Android now (closed test). iPhone is coming later.
- Region and currency: built for Morocco; amounts are in Moroccan dirham (MAD).
- Speech: English during the initial release.
